Addo Elephant National Park is found in the dense bushveld valleys of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape. It is the third largest national park in South Africa and home to the Big 5 (Lion, Rhinoceros, Elephant, Leopard and the mighty Cape Buffalo), from the small Flightless Dung Beetles to the hundreds of grey mammoths, the Park was established to protect them all.
Addo is a very diverse wildlife conservation park and is home to more than 600 Elephants, large herds of Cape Buffaloes, Lion, Leopard and the endangered South-Western Black Rhinoceros.
The game drive through the dense bushveld valleys will be for the whole day with a professional safari operator in 4x4 transport. Pack your binoculars for spectacular game sightings. You may even get to see the unique Flightless Dung Beetle, found almost exclusively in this park.
The park includes a large portion of ocean giving it marine protection status. The coastal section of the park includes islands that are home to the world’s largest breeding populations of Cape Gannets and the second largest breeding population of African Penguins.
